Here the guys (Switch Committee) talk about some of the suggestions we (improvisers) get from the audience from time to time. Some times they are vulgar and down right WTF! We discuss different approaches to handling these situations and talk about times where suggestions like these have come up.
Things go straight to hell right off the bat.

Blooper 2: We attack moms
The Switch boys had a blast at the second week of the Improv Gladiators competition this past Friday, where they finished the night in 2nd place but managed to hold onto their lead overall going into the next set this Friday. Something to note is that despite a hilariously bad performance during the short-form portion of the competition, Switch was given a perfect 45/45 score by the judges for their long-form set!
Be sure to catch the rivalry between the boys and their friends of the Instant Specialists as the competition continues this week!
Check out our first official podcast. We talk about Ryan’s current journey of doing 31 days of shows for the entire month of January as well as the support people have for one another doing comedy in Chicago. We also all do Randy Newman impersonations at one point. It’s ridiculous. We start off with a spot-on impersonation of Ryan from Collin as well.[audio http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/8yg1jap64n/talking_about_31_days.wav]
So Switch Committee has decided to test their hands at doing a podcast. Of course, while trying to do so, there has been ridiculous banter back and forth. Here are some of the bloopers before we release our actual podcast.
These were dumb. We know. We get it ALRIGHT! Laugh at it anyway.
First official podcast coming soon!
Last night, the boys of Switch performed the first set of their five-week run at the Improv Gladiators Competition. They finished the first week in first place and wil be back to try to defend their lead next week at 8 PM!
The boys are also supporting Committee member Ryan Nallen as he pushes through his “31 Days of Improv,” a personal challenge Ryan made to perform improvisation-based shows every single night of January back to back to back. So far he’s 11 days strong, and Switch will be back to help him see it through this Sunday at the Playground’s Extended Play at 9:30 PM!
So next month, Switch Committee will officially be 1 years old. Honestly it feels like we just met yesterday. We have had some of the most fun together hanging out and performing with each other. So much that we are still together after one year. It’s actually not that common that an improv group stays together that long. A lot of members will come and go and groups will disband. While we did lose some members, the group never broke up as a whole. To celebrate this joyous occasion, we are hosting a very special anniversary comedy show. We are so excited it’s ridiculous. There’s going to be cake and punch. If the cake and punch wasn’t enough for you then we can promise hi-fives and hugs as well. We have a stellar lineup of opening groups. People who are very close friends of ours and who have kicked serious comedy ass here in Chicago. Check out the link above for specific information for the event.
If you’d like to join us in celebrating our year together as an improv troupe. Or if you’re just interested in some free cake, punch, or hi-fives then make sure you clear your schedules for one of the 2 show dates below:
